What is spawnd?
spawnd is a web-based gaming tool that lets players instantly try premium PC game demos: no lengthy downloads, no installations. Think of it as YouTube for game demos: just click and play. Our goal is to boost visibility, wishlist conversions, and ultimately sales for high-quality games — especially on Steam — by making the demo experience seamless, fast, and easily shareable.
Is this cloud gaming?
No. spawnd runs games directly in your browser using web technologies. There's no remote server streaming video to you — the game runs locally (even offline!), which means no latency, no limits and a much more responsive experience.
Do developers need to port their demos?
In most cases, a WebGL or HTML5 export is all that's needed. spawnd supports standard and modern web game formats and provides tools to make the upload and update process simple. Engines such as Unity, Godot and GameMaker already makes this process quick and seamless.
Is spawnd free? Are there any costs or fees?
Yes, spawnd is entirely free for Players and Developers! If your game is selected, we will host it at no costs to you.
How do I submit my game?
Visit docs.spawnd.gg to start the process. You'll upload your playable build, add a description and assets, and your demo will go through a brief curation review before going live.
Are there any criteria for games on spawnd?
Yes, spawnd is a curated platform and is focusing on high quality games and engaging experiences targeting PC / Steam gamers on Desktops. At the moment spawnd is not accepting casual, hyper-casual or cassino games or games targeting primarily mobile devices.
